Carlos is very independent and adapts easily in new environments. For an active orangutan like Carlos, spending his days in a socialisation complex is hard and of course not as much fun or stimulating as forest school.
Within the limited space of the complex, Carlos must find ways to enjoy himself - he loves playing and exploring the enrichment tools around his enclosure. These tools are especially made to learn valuable forest skills and give educational yet fun activities for the orangutans. Carlos has also started to experience physical changes. He's growing beard, indicating that he's maturing into adulthood. He seems to like his long beard, stroking it proudly from time to time. His hair has also turned darker, giving evidence to his Central Kalimantan origin.
