Rescue Watch: The Heartwarming Story of Harapi

Discover the incredible journey of Harapi, the orphaned baby orangutan rescued by our dedicated team.

The Heartwarming Story of Harapi's Rescue

Meet Harapi, a male baby orangutan who was tragically taken from his mother and kept as an illegal pet.

Thanks to the joint efforts of BKSDA Kaltim/Ministry of Environment and Forestry and our BORA alliance, Harapi was rescued and brought to our BORA rescue centre in East Kalimantan.

Harapi's Rescue and Arrival

After being taken from his mother, Harapi's future seemed uncertain. However, with the combined efforts of dedicated individuals, he was rescued and brought to our BORA rescue centre in East Kalimantan. Here, surrounded by a compassionate team, Harapi found safety and hope.

A New Beginning for Harapi

Harapi is now approximately ten months old and a cherished member of our family. Our dedicated team have given him specialised medical attention and a nurturing environment to ensure his well-being and development. Our team is committed to preparing Harapi for his eventual release back into the wild.

A Message of Hope

Join us in sending messages of hope for Harapi's future.

As he clings to Jevri, one of our compassionate orangutan keepers, we envision a day when Harapi can return to the wild, living freely in his natural habitat.

With your support, we can provide Harapi and other rescued orangutans with the care, rehabilitation, and education they need to ensure their successful reintroduction to the wild.
